Biography
My name is Cher Algarin and I am excited to be the Principal at Dorsett Shoals ES! This is my 22nd year in the field of education. I have taught every grade in elementary except kindergarten and second. I have an open door policy to serve as a resource for the students, teachers, parents and community members of Dorsett Shoals ES. I will do everything possible for students to ensure that they receive the best education possible. I am looking forward to an awesome 2017-2018 school year.
I was born in Chicago, Illinois, but I moved to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. I started elementary school there and graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School in 1991. After the graduation ceremony concluded I got on a jet and moved to Chicago, IL. I lived there for 9 years and taught elementary school for 4 years. I relocated to the Atlanta area in August 2000. My family and I moved to Douglasville, GA in 2002 and we remain proud residents of Douglasville.
